How it Started
Our grandfather Bert Wildfong met Ray Stueckle in April of 1979 at the U of R in Regina, SK where Ray spoke at a Combine Clinic that day. There were over 700 farmers in attendance. His fascinating six hour presentation concerning combine performance problems and solutions stirred Bert’s curiosity and inspired him to build combine parts. Later that summer with much help from Ray they began building precision bored concaves. These concaves improved thrash and reduced loss in small grains.
In 1981 Ray introduced us to the Airfoil Chaffer. This was originally developed in 1965 by Arthur S. Leitzke of Fresno, CA. Ray had been selling a number of these chaffers since 1970 but felt the basic design could use some improvement. So he asked my father to come up with a strong light-weight one piece design with no moving parts, nothing to adjust and nothing to wear out.
Bert was able to accomplish this with the invaluable help of John Friesen owner of AJ Machine in Saskatoon, SK. We sold thousands of these chaffers over the next 14 years. We sold the ‘Harvest Services’ business in 1995 to a group of our former employees.
After pricing out a new set of concaves from two different suppliers we were shocked at the price and noticed that only one company is building extended wear concaves. Upon recognizing the need for a high quality and cost effective solution we asked, ‘why are we not building these on our own?’ And the legacy continues. Today we are using a new design in our extended wear concaves that uses a smooth continuous bar with customizable specifications to provide farmers in North America a smarter way to harvest.
We look forward to doing business with you.

“As far as concaves go these are the best concaves I have ever used in my crops”
“The value was the best thing, they were half as much as John Deere concaves, and compared to the one year old JD Concaves they were awesome, really the value for money was the biggest reason we decided to purchase. We put a large rock through the combine and it did some damage the fact that Russ fixed it up the next day was great, we were really impressed with their customer service”
