Concaves for John Deere Combines

Our extended wear Wildfong Concaves are built with an industry leading AR400 plate.

2.4 times harder for better wear characteristics, 4 times the tensile strength as regular concaves due to the armor plate grade of steel we use to withstand rock ingestion or wet tough crop conditions.

A leading design with “continuous bar” and the height above the wires set to 3/8” for hard to thresh crops. Laser cut precision for a perfect circle, ensures every concave that leaves our shop is built to the same exacting detail.

Concave and wire configurations to fit any crop and every crop for all our growers.

  • 4X Harder
  • 2.4X Stronger
  • Reduce Rotor Loss
  • Eliminate Down Time
  • Quality Thresh Sample
  • Abrasive Resistant

We built our first concave for our S690 Deere back in the fall of 2014. The factory concaves had completely been destroyed in tough wet harvesting conditions. Dad insisted that we use the highest grade of Abrasive Resistant, “Armour Plate”, we could buy without a defense contract. AR 400 is that material. It has 4 times the hardness (wear resistance) and 2.5 times the tensile strength. What that means is your concaves will last four times as long before wearing down in abrasive crops and soils. Also the steel can withstand impacts of foreign objects (rocks, wads, stumps) that none of our competitors can even begin to compare. Its why we have an industry leading two year full ingestion warranty. If these concaves can't handle it nothing can. Like the warranty on the threshing elements, now that we have refined our design, we have not had to replace a single concave out of thousands in the last 7 years.

Customers tell me time and time again that they can’t believe how well they perform over standard factory. Its simple, factory concaves are built with ¼” of steel on the crossbar above the wire. This is insufficient for wheat and other difficult to thresh crops. We use 3/8” above the wire which holds the head of wheat long enough to thresh out and not roll over the crossbar.

Concave Buyers Guide

About Hard Thresh Concaves

A must for farmers with hard to thresh wheat or flax crops. Extra crossbars in the concave give the customer the best thresh, while requiring no reduction in separating area due to coverplates. Case has a factory option available however Deere has an extra add on kit that is quite inferior and requires changing concaves as well

Regular Thresh options are available in all wire spacings, the Hard Thresh is just for incredibly tough threshing conditions.

Nearly 50% more bars for tougher threshing conditions. Our continuous bar design allows all three concaves to synchronize as one leaving no dead spots or interruptions in the threshing process.

About No Wire Concaves

Developed for the high yielding corn, bean and wheat producers, this design uses a welded on ledge for holding the crop up in front of the crossbar, and no wires to impede the flow of threshed grain down into the combine sieves. All wear components built out of AR400 so the concaves outlast any of the “notched bar” designs out on the market. We recommend any Corn and Bean growers use these concaves, will work well in wheat, key is to have a Hard Thresh front concave available for tough wheat otherwise separation is limited by the use of cover plates. This has become our preferred method for our Case and John Deere combines on our farm.

This concave is a must have for Rice producers!

Quick Change Concaves for John Deere Combines

Almost always our customers agree, “No one set of concaves is perfect in all crops and all conditions”. Having the ability to change even the front concave quickly and effortlessly when going from hard threshing wheat to gentle threshing crops like corn or beans is the best. New for 2023 is our “Easy Change” front concaves for John Deere. A one piece frame goes in the front position, small modular concave goes inside the frame, with just three carriage head bolts to tighten up, all installed from the left hand side of the combine.

CONCAVES – AN ESSENTIAL PART OF A SUCCESSFUL HARVEST

Since 2014 Wildfong Enterprises has been manufacturing concaves for growers across North America. It all started with his desire to have his crops thresh and separate better, last longer and help him make the most of each harvest.

Getting the right concave for your combine and crop is important. Farmers want to know they are getting the most out of their crops. Well-set combines keep crops from becoming damaged or going out with the chaff. Farmers frequently check their settings to ensure they are as precise as possible for their crops, conditions, and equipment. Being able to trust a high-quality concave can bring peace of mind and help fill the bin!

Why use a custom concave? Stock concaves that came with your combine are designed to work under ideal conditions for the crop types you grow. They may not be able to provide a high level of performance under tougher conditions – and ironically those often are the times when the concave proves its value most!

Being able to change out, customize and precisely set your combine to the concaves gives farmers the flexibility to meet challenging conditions confidently, and with Wildfong Enterprises products they can have the added assurance of high-quality concaves that will last plus expert service.

It may seem easier to have stock, all crop concaves, but when crop prices and inputs are at all-time highs getting the most out of your crop becomes an investment worth making, and that investment can start with custom concaves.

There are many costs on a farm, and custom concaves from Wildfong Enterprises are an investment that returns on every acre with more grain in the bin. Whatever your crop or combine, they will have a concave solution to meet your needs.
